Bhagwan Mahaveer Foundation instituted special award for Journals in Hindi and in English mainly dealing with material on vegetarianism, non-violence, teachings of Sadhus and spiritual standards to be followed by the younger generation. The winners were selected by an eminent Jury headed by Shri Jayanthilal Jain. The other members of the Jury are Dr. Badresh Jain and Shri Dulichand Jain (Convener).
The award carries a cash component of Rs. 1,00,000/- each, a citation and a memento.
