Gunwant Nagardas Damani :
Sri Gunwant Nagardas Damani popularly known as GND is
a dynamic
personality and has experience of over four decades in various
fields of business ranging from Dyes& Chemicals, Lotteries,
Jewellery, Tourism, hire purchase & finance, agro farms,
Construction, Hospitality Segment to name a few. He is a member
of the board of trustees of the Bhaghwan Mahaveer Foundation.
G.N.Damani is a veteran in the Indian business scenario, who
combines entrepreneurship with philanthropy and actively contributes
to the society through a number of charitable institutions
to name a few, like GN Damani Charitable Trust, Bhaghwan Mahaveer
Foundation, Voluntary Health Services, Sugal & Damani
Charitable Trust, Empathy Foundation etc., He lives by the
adage ‘Private wealth is public trust’. He distributes
a fair portion of his income to various charity organizations
like Hospitals, Educational Institutions and needy individuals.
He is also associated with the Cancer Institute and Shankara
Netralaya. He is not only a successful businessman and philanthropist
but also a religious man who believes in vegetarianism and
human values. Shri G N Damani is married to Smt Mita, and
he is very popular amongst his relatives and friends as well
as his colleagues and staff of the various organizations with
which he is associated. |

The
other two Trustees of the Foundation, are the sons of
Shri Sugalchand Jain. Shri Prasanchand Jain the eldest
son of Shri Sugalchand Jain, in his early fourties,
is a commerce graduate from the Madras University. Apart
from running individual businesses entrusted to his
care successfully, he is actively associated with his
father in almost all the latter's interests. These include
lottery organising, real estate and housing, agro farms,
hire purchase and finance on the business side and all
the charitable trusts in which his father is interested.
Shri Vinod Kumar the younger son is also a commerce
graduate from the Madras University and actively involves
himself both formally and informally in all the activities,
business and charitable, with which his father and his
brother are associated. In addition he has recently
taken over as Executive Director of the Sugal &
Damani Shares and Stock Brokers Ltd. and has made its
functioning a tremendous success within a short period.
Both the sons of Shri Sugalchand Jain are married and
form part of a well knit and emotionally inter dependent
family unit. Apart from functioning as Trustees of the
Bhagwan Mahaveer Foundation, the two sons have contributed
substantially to the development of the activities of
the various charitable trusts set up by the family especially
in the fields of education and medicine. The father
and sons have of late been concentrating on provision
of assistance to the visually handicapped the assistance
taking the form of supply of free medicines and spectacles
particularly to these who are residing in the remote
rural areas of the state.
The family members of the Trustees have also been towers
of strength to the Trust in designing, implementing
and streamlining its activities. Shri Prasanchand and
Shri Vinod Kumar have been standing shoulder to shoulder
with Shri Sugalchand Jain in this area and have been
of immense moral support to him. Not to be left behind
are the ladies of the family namely his wife Smt. S.
Chandrabai and his daughters-in-law Smt. Nirmala Prasanchand
and Smt. Kalavathy Vinod Kumar.

Sri
Pramod Jain (23 Years) is the son of Sri Prasa nchand
Jain. Born on 15.05.1988, Sri Jain has completed his BBA degree
and he is at present undergoing studies in Family Management
Business in S P Jain Institute of Management & Research,
Mumbai. He has gained considerable business acumen and is supporting
his other family members in their philanthropy activities.

Shri.
P V Krishnamurthy, a Retd. Officer of the Indian Accounts
&  Audit
Service has served in a number of important positions
in his own department and the Government of India. The
posts which he held include that of the Finance Member,
Delhi Development Authority, Special Assistant to a
Union Cabinet Minister, Joint Secretary to the Government
of India, Chief Auditor Commercial Accounts, Accountant
General, Madhya Pradesh, Principal Accountant
General, Tamilnadu and Senior Executive Director, SEBI.
He is at present functioning as the Honorary Executive
Trustee of the Bhagwan Mahaveer Foundation. |
